The Musée Cantonal des Beaux-Arts Lausanne opens to the public. On this occasion, in order to celebrate the opportunity for a permanent display of the canton’s rich art collections, the inaugural exhibition Atlas. A Cartography of Donations presents the museum’s holdings across the MCBA’s almost 3200 square metres of exhibition space.
Barozzi Veiga has been selected to design a major makeover of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Together with the Art Institute, Barozzi Veiga will address the new museum as an interlocking complex–an unfolding series of immersive spaces to welcome the visitors. Architectural Digest has awarded Fabrizio Barozzi and Alberto Veiga with the AD Award Architechts of the Year.
Barozzi Veiga in collaboration with BS Arkitekter, Krogh Madsen Arkitekter and 1:1 Landskab, has won the shared first prize for the international design competition of the Aalborg Art Center.
The other finalists included: BIG, Snohetta, Henning Larsen and Praksis Arkitekter – who shares the first prize.
The result of the second phase of the competition will be published in October 2019.
